/killnpc Alesia
I think it would be a lot easier probably to put in a killnpc command then to fix the bug that causes them to get stuck in certain places. Twice tonight I ran from TOA to the Wizard's Tower and gradually chipped away at the nasty followers surrounding Galrath only to have to map back to Wizard's Tower because my npc's got stuck in a mountain when the rest of the party died...
Can I get an amen?

Amen
Countless times in piken square - alesia would get stuck against the sign post and just stand there.
Other times she stand above my broken and beaten body - shes rezzed everyone but me and took ages before eventually rezzing me.
Dont think she likes it when i pinch her bum mid smite...

Alesia healer is stupid. the other day when i went farming, i started attacking this group of enemies. for some idiotic reason, she ran past ahead of me right in front of the enemies and they stopped attacking me and raped her badly. in 5sec she was toast. this dumb healer was suppose to stay behind me and heal me but instead ran up ahead of me and starting healing me from there while she was getting raped.

Her AI, as do most NPCs, needs improvement, and not just pathfinding.
If she's going to be charging in and fighting, at least give her one or two skills that she can use from protection and smiting. Or make her AI a little more like "running" monks in the arena so if she is targeted she'll try to run away and give people some time to do something.
IMO an NPC "healer" monk should try to stay out of it and focus on healing. I don't mind if they help a little offensivily, but they aren't players and people that take them do so because they want someone that can heal them.

I think there needs to be a second healer henchmen. That way, I can go out with 2 healers instead of 1 when farming.

More NPCs means fewer item drops which means you've got to kill more enemies.

I honestly believe AN should provide two templates for the healer AI, with one tightly focused on HEALING ONLY and the other most balanced across smiting, healing, and protection.

they definatly need this. Anyone ever tried going through a previously opened teleporter in the desert with henchmen? It doesn't work. They don't follow you. Then, if you die on the other side, they just stand around..... you have to reset everytime.

I quite agree the ability to kill off henchman would be VERY useful. Not only would it fix the problems with the floating henchie bug, but it would put an end to bad rezes from the henchies (theres nothing i hate more than being rezed by a lone dying henchie, so i can watch my DP go from -15, to -30 in about 1 second's time).

We could care less who needs what when farming - just agree with the question or disagree - Thanks
Ummm I've only had a few experiences where the henchies run off as though being commanded to by some unknown force...but when it does happen it is just a bit of a pisser. I'm more in agreement with Alesia assuming the tank role from out of nowhere or the inconsistency of who the NPC is tied to (i.e. If your the leader of the group, you added the henchies so they should be following you...not me when I was merely added to the group). Ive found that when I play my Warrior, because I'm initiating the melee and therefore move in first....she has more a tendency to stick her chin out and beg to be hit versus when I'm out with my Ele/R and am attacking from range. I've been far more successful with the henchies this way than with my melee build.....she actually stays back to keep me alive 90% of the time, only moving forward to heal my wolf or other henchies........deaths due to Alesia have dropped considerably..LOL - that should be a statistic!!!

No she isn't stupid. She is a true professional and does whatever programmers make her do, including getting stuck, so blame A-net and whoever programed her AI, not Alesia herself.

Amen to that. She's only doing what her creators expect of her. Maybe they somehow expect the PC to protect her once in a while?

Although you all make some great points about pathing and AI, what I want is a quick fix. When all live players are dead, have a command that says /killnpc and all npc players die. This takes care of lost npcs (which can always happen with maps this size... they don't need to be stuck to be so far away that they can't path) and it takes care of bugs... In about 12 hours time I'll be logging in and I WILL get Galrath... although I would feel a lot more comfortable about it if there was nothing to make me think I may have to do the same 2 hour (biting my tongue against the word 'grind') run through the swamp several times.

that's where I start from, you have to go through the Black Curtain south of ToA, then another area which I dn't remember the name... and then 30 million followers of Aveta who are minimum level 20 and protected by level 24 priests...
Then Galrath

NPC's take the equivalent of the items you would get when having real players along as well. Not a big deal. If it's a 6 person group, you would normally get every 6th drop.
